A Life I Never Wanted by ~whiteboysound:iconwhiteboysound:

On your terms
slightly spurned
from the lips of an nightwalker
tastes like heat
softly sweet
slip me underneath the water
There I stay
justice brays
and tells me not to dream

There lit upon your eye
a gleam that makes me die
a sentiment of ghostly hopes
tied down with earthly ropes
Entangled in your breath
sweetness and a pinch of death
Nevertheless I crane to see
you walking by, happy

This time last year we were
this age is overwhelming me
I feel like I should speak
but everything I say seems weaker than you
just like I always knew I was
And you were still
a beauty
a life I never wanted

On your terms
slightly spurned
from the lips of an nightwalker
tastes like heat
softly sweet
slip me underneath the water
There I stay
justice brays
and tells me not to dream

And when you take me
you take and tell me not to say
anything to the day that greets us
And when you shake me
you swear that I am fey
you swear that everything you say is eternity
And I believe you
How I believe every breath you breathe
Oh, I believe you
I know you life to deceive and still . . .
I would only love to bend unto your will

You have such lovely eyes
you are such lovely dreams
And I will dream of you
until I die

Author's Comments

This one is pure fiction, based on the love of an eternal creature and his ordinary choice. I picture him with white hair, and strength. Kind of weird, but I did have an image. She's short, slight, and fiery, but dull next to him. An admitted dreamer, the one thing that he hates about her. He thinks that if she dreams too much, she'll want more than he is. More than he could be. He's wrong of course, because as you can read from her words (the viewpoint of the song) he's all she thinks about.
